Absentee Voting
All registered voters can vote using an absentee ballot for any reason, no questions asked. You must turn in your absentee ballot application to your clerk online, by mail, or in person. If using mail, it’s recommended to do so no later than 14 days before an election to ensure you receive your ballot on time.
Once you complete your absentee ballot, your city or township clerk must receive it back as voted and signed by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day to be counted (with exceptions for military and overseas voters). You can return your ballot by mail, hand deliver it to your clerk’s office, or drop it off at a local ballot drop box.
To find a drop box near you, locate your local clerk’s office, track your absentee ballot, or view your sample ballot, visit mi.gov/vote.

Early In-Person Voting
New Michigan Law requires at least 9 days of early in person voting. You can show up to a local voting site and vote in person as if you were voting on election day.
In addition, you can drop off your absentee ballot at your local early voting location.

A New District
In 2023, a federal court ruled that 13 state Senate and House districts were drawn unconstitutionally, requiring those maps to be redrawn. In 2024, three federal judges approved the new districts, which include Senate District 6.
The new 6th Senate District includes Northwest Detroit from 8-mile to Livernois to Tireman/Warren/Joy & all of Redford Twp
